Overview

In this Senior CI Engineer role, you lead cross-functional improvement projects aligned to business priorities and Hoshin Kanri. You provide technical coaching in Lean and Six Sigma to CI engineers and operations, partnering with finance to validate benefits and sustain improvements. You drive safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements across a unionised site. You will shape the site’s continuous improvement capability and mentor the team to embed standard work and repeatable processes. Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects delivering measurable safety, quality, cost, and delivery benefits
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching in Lean and Six Sigma to CI engineers and operations
  • Validate benefits with Finance, embed standard work, and sustain improvements
  • Lead 6S assessments and drive area managers to sustain high standards
  • Deliver quality improvements aligned with aerospace standards and change controls
  • Lead problem-solving using DMAIC, A3, PDCA and Kaizen; verify root causes and effectiveness
  • Develop process maps, SOPs, control plans; ensure sustainable handover of improvements
  • Translate Hoshin Kanri priorities into project objectives and milestones
  • Mentor and develop CI engineers; deliver Lean problem-solving training to teams
  • Present project updates and validated benefits for management reviews
Key requirements
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt minimum with DMAIC experience
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English
  • 4+ years manufacturing/operational CI experience with independent project delivery
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable improvements and validate benefits with Finance
  • Practical competence in Lean tools, data analysis, root-cause analysis, and control planning
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, facilitating workshops, coaching colleagues
  • Strong MS Office and Excel; clear written, verbal, and presentation skills
