Overview

You join Robinhood's Cloud Engineering team to accelerate the modernization of Bitstamp's backend. You will lead containerization of a monolith and ensure seamless integration with Robinhood’s global systems. The role focuses on building a scalable, automated, 24/7 reliable platform in a fast-moving, high-performance culture. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive platform improvements and automation, shaping how the core platform operates at scale. This is an opportunity to influence a critical infrastructure initiative at the intersection of crypto, fintech, and global service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead containerization of the monolith and adjust code for modern deployment and scaling workflows
  • Manage high-priority integration projects aligning Bitstamp with Robinhood’s global infrastructure
  • Identify and implement backend improvements to boost performance and reduce operational toil, including automation (with/without AI)
  • Own complex projects end-to-end from design to deployment with limited supervision
  • Collaborate across teams to interpret requirements and improve engineering velocity
  • Maintain platform reliability by participating in on-call rotations and solving difficult issues
Key requirements
  • 4–5+ years in backend engineering
  • Strong containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience modernizing legacy architectures
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS services (ECS, EC2, Aurora, DynamoDB)
  • Proven autonomy in delivering entire projects or processes
  • Operational pragmatism and ability to automate while handling day-to-day tasks
  • Strong communication and cross-functional influence
