Senior Cloud Engineer - Contract

As a Senior Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer, you will migrate live services to Flagstone’s new Azure cloud and lay the foundations for scalable platform delivery. You’ll work directly on migration, operational support, and building reusable infrastructure components for engineers. Your work enables secure, observable, and efficient cloud-native delivery across teams. This contract role offers visible impact from day one in a growth-focused fintech environment.

• Migrate live services to the new Azure cloud with zero production disruption
• Handle day-to-day operational support and incident response to sustain migration cadence
• Develop production-grade Terraform and/or Bicep modules with testing, versioning, and drift remediation
• Design landing zones, hub-and-spoke networks, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity
• Build a shared integration front door for partner and AI tool integration
• Define and implement golden paths to reduce delivery cost and accelerate engineering squads
• Stand up AI platform foundations including AI gateway, observability stack, and hosting for AI tools (Flagstone Concierge) with AWS Bedrock access
• Create and maintain infrastructure pipelines with security scanning, plan validation, and approval gates
• Implement RBAC using Entra ID, managed identities, and service principals

• Hands-on Azure platform experience across landing zones, networking, identity, and storage
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and/or Bicep in production
• Practical experience with hub-and-spoke networking, private endpoints, DNS, and hybrid connectivity
• Experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with automated security and compliance gates
• Solid understanding of Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and Azure hierarchy
• Comfort with owning migration delivery and related operational support
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly via briefs and architectural records
• Growth mindset and genuine curiosity to keep learning
• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305)
• Experience hosting AI workloads and model access through AWS Bedrock
• Experience building golden paths or internal developer platforms
