Overview

In this role you will design, build and support secure AWS-based cloud environments for mission-critical programmes. You’ll be part of a growing cloud engineering team collaborating with leads, architects and stakeholders to deliver resilient infrastructure and automated deployments. You will enable migrations of applications to AWS and continuously optimise security and performance. This is a hands-on, impact‑driven position at the heart of national security programmes. You’ll work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment that values innovation and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and support secure AWS cloud environments
  • Deliver infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Support migration and hosting of applications/workloads on AWS
  • Monitor, optimise and secure cloud services for performance and resilience
  • Collaborate with customer stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions
  • Contribute to technical documentation, testing and continuous service improvement
Key requirements
  • At least 3 years of AWS experience
  • Strong networking, security and platform services knowledge in AWS
  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform
  • Automation experience using Python or Shell
  • Experience delivering cloud projects in secure/regulatory or mission-critical environments
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams with technical stakeholders
  • Active eDV clearance
  • AWS Certification (Associate level or equivalent)
  • Relevant technical qualification, degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Effective communication with stakeholders
  • Team player in Agile environments
  • AWS (cloud services, networking, security, platform services)
  • Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Python or Shell scripting for automation
