Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

In this role you lead the cloud migration and governance for RuneScape’s hybrid infrastructure, with a focus on AWS and cloud-native evolution. You will collaborate with the Cloud Platform team to design reliable, in-house standards and drive architectural decisions. You own key projects end-to-end, migrate workloads to the cloud, and reduce technical debt through IaC. You mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations to keep live services stable. This is a hands-on, production-critical role at a fast-evolving games studio.

• Lead and drive the cloud migration programme, including lift-and-shift to AWS
• Collaborate with the Principal Cloud Tech Engineer to design infrastructure to in-house standards
• Apply IaC principles across legacy and new cloud deployments to improve reliability
• Provide critical support for game servers, web servers, and backend infrastructure in production
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to grow cloud capabilities
• Participate in an on-call rota to support production systems

• Strong Linux and AWS experience including IAM, EKS, ECS, CloudWAN, Direct Connect/SiteLink
• Proven IaC experience with deployed projects
• Solid networking knowledge with VyOS, Palo Alto, Arista
• CI/CD pipelines and a DevOps mindset
• Experience with on-premise environments and hybrid interconnects; Puppet experience is a plus
• Kubernetes experience is a strong advantage; experience in gaming or creative technical environments is a plus
