Senior Compiler Engineer

In this role you will help build Riverlane’s compiler toolchain for fault-tolerant quantum computing, enabling researchers and hardware partners to write and run robust quantum programs. You will own substantial parts of the software stack and contribute to the open-source ecosystem around quantum error correction. You will collaborate across engineering and science teams to design, optimize, and ship compiler and runtime components. - Design and build system tools (compilers, emulators, profilers, debuggers)
- Design and implement compiler optimizations, transformations, and analyses across IR levels
- Own a substantial portion of the software stack for error-corrected quantum computing systems
- Mentor, guide and lead engineers in the team
- Lead collaboration with other engineering teams to integrate software and hardware artifacts with the compiler
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement new error correcting codes and runtimes for decoders
- Curiosity to learn new things

- Strong written and verbal communication
- Broad knowledge of the software and hardware stack (compilers, OS, architectures)
- Experience in compilers (LLVM MLIR or others), esp. middle-/back-end: IR design, optimizations, instruction selection
- Experience shipping software to users
- Proficiency in Python; proficiency in C++ or Rust
