Senior Complex Systems Engineer / Consultant – Underwater Complex Systems

In this role you will deliver high‑quality engineering support for submarine combat systems and other underwater complex platforms. You’ll work in a specialist multi‑disciplinary team, shaping delivery approaches with project managers and ensuring progress is tracked and risks mitigated. You will sustain in‑service capabilities and help develop next‑generation solutions, while expanding consultancy into non‑defence underwater domains. • Deliver engineering support across submarine combat systems and underwater complex systems
• Operate within a specialist team and contribute to projects of varying scope
• Collaborate with Project Managers to shape delivery, plan, and mitigate risks
• Monitor progress and report against schedules; ensure stakeholder engagement
• Support achievement of milestones and sustaining in‑service capabilities
• Contribute to expansion of consultancy and engineering services into new underwater domains

• Demonstrable experience in operation and support of complex submarine combat systems or underwater mission systems
• Ideally experience in design, procurement, delivery into service and support of submarine combat systems
• Understanding of MOD business processes relevant to combat and mission systems engineering
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working toward; Level 5 or higher Engineering qualification
• Defence/naval/underwater systems engineering background
• Basic understanding of defence procurement policies and MOD/SDA stakeholders
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain UK security clearance
