Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java codebases
  • Contribute across the software development lifecycle from design to deployment
  • Provide technical input during system design and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Write well-documented code and contribute to technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure live services run smoothly
  • Stay current with Java technologies and best practices and evaluate adoption opportunities
  • Communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Contribute to the engineering community
Key requirements
  • Proven Java development experience (including JVM-based languages like Kotlin and Scala)
  • Experience with Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Boot)
  • Experience designing, developing, and securing RESTful APIs
  • Strong understanding of OOP (SOLID), design patterns, and secure coding practices
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience using Git for version control
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring and diagnosing performance issues
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions)
  • Cloud familiarity (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration
  • Problem-solving in dynamic environments
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers
  • Java and JVM languages (Kotlin, Scala)
  • Spring Framework (MVC, Boot)
  • RESTful API design and security
