Senior Core Systems Developer

Build scalable core systems at Equitable in a hybrid Waterloo role using COBOL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Ingenium. Design solutions supporting Individual Insurance.

As a Senior Technology Specialist and Core Systems Developer, you will develop application solutions for Equitable’s Individual Insurance lines. Your work includes designing, programming, documenting, testing, and implementing system changes. You will collaborate with product owners, business partners, platform specialists, and technology colleagues to deliver working applications. The position requires strong COBOL, Microsoft SQL Server, Transact SQL, and Ingenium experience, with GIT considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design high-performance, scalable applications and database solutions
• Program and test core systems changes
• Document and implement application solutions
• Investigate production problems with minimal guidance
• Recommend when new technologies should be used

Requirements:

• At least seven years of strong technical experience
• Required COBOL or Micro Focus COBOL experience
• Required Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL experience
• Required Ingenium experience; GIT is an asset
• Computer Science or related degree or diploma
