Senior Data Analyst Waterloo

Advance data-informed decisions at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, using SQL, Python, statistical analysis, and predictive modelling. This is full-time work.

The Data Analyst supports the Faculty of Mathematics Dean’s Office through data management, analytics, reporting, and solution design. This temporary, two-year contract or secondment requires three-plus years of related experience. You will work with varied clients, university data systems, policies, and procedures. Your work will support operational efficiency, planning, evaluation, and budgeting across Faculty service units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate, consistent, compliant Faculty data
• Develop Python scripts and dimensional analytics models
• Apply regression, clustering, and decision-tree techniques
• Create forecasts, predictive models, dashboards, and visualizations
• Communicate findings and recommendations to varied clients

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related discipline
• Three-plus years in data management, analytics, and modelling
• Proven SQL querying and data extraction experience
• Proficiency with R, Python, or equivalent tools
• Knowledge of statistical packages, ETL, and visual analytics
