Senior Data Architect

In this role you lead data architecture across SIX’s Financial Information division to deliver robust, business-aligned data products. You shape canonical data models, metadata and lineage, and API schemas to enable reliable data access for customers and AI agents. You collaborate with delivery teams and governance to ensure scalable, maintainable data foundations that unlock new revenue opportunities. This is a chance to influence how financial information is consumed across the firm and by external partners.

• Design and maintain business-aligned canonical data models and naming conventions
• Provide data architecture guidance to delivery teams to ensure maintainable, revenue-generating data products
• Develop metadata, dictionaries, and lineage standards in collaboration with data quality teams
• Translate complex data concepts into robust products for diverse stakeholders and contribute to governance
• Support evolution of data distribution models, including API-first delivery and AI data access enablement

• 5+ years in data modelling or data architecture within financial services
• Experience designing schemas for relational databases, data lakes/lakehouses (Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent) and API/formats (JSON Schema, OpenAPI, Avro, Protobuf)
• Strong understanding of metadata and lineage management
• Proficiency with UML data modelling tools (Sparx EA preferred; Erwin, PowerDesigner or similar)
• Knowledge of securities reference data, corporate actions, market data and regulatory classifications; fixed income desirable
• Understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL) and schema evolution for backward compatibility
• English fluent; German a plus
