Senior Data Architect

Senior Data Architect at Anson McCade to lead and shape data architecture for complex transformation programmes in UK healthcare or public sector. You will combine hands-on architecture, client consulting and people leadership to deliver scalable, secure data solutions. You’ll drive governance, standard methodologies and technology decisions across projects and enterprise levels. The role offers high impact through guiding data strategy and mentoring a growing team within a reputable, client‑facing practice.

• Lead the design of robust and scalable data architectures across transformation programmes
• Provide specialist guidance on data modelling, structures, flows, sourcing, transformation, migration and master data
• Translate business and technical requirements into architecture solutions
• Assess and modernise existing data environments; identify opportunities for improvement
• Ensure architecture assurance throughout project lifecycles and compliance with requirements
• Establish data architecture standards, patterns and best practices
• Resolve data definition, ownership, mastering and information-management challenges
• Contribute to enterprise data architecture decisions as needed
• Evaluate and recommend data technologies and products based on client needs
• Build strong client relationships and communicate architecture concepts to varied audiences
• Facilitate workshops to shape data strategy and architectural direction
• Provide independent thought leadership on data architecture and industry practices
• Lead governance frameworks and information-handling models across heterogeneous environments
• Plan capacity and decision-making across multiple data storage technologies
• Contribute to data lake architecture within modern platforms
• Mentor and develop junior data professionals
• Foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
• Develop reusable standards and technical expertise to strengthen capability

• Substantial experience in Data Architecture with strong client-facing and technical leadership
• Experience in UK Healthcare or Public Sector
• Expertise in data modelling, metadata management, data transformation, migration and master data
• Proven track record of architecture leadership across projects and programmes
• Experience with architecture assurance and defining technical standards
• Knowledge of data architecture methodologies, patterns and best practices
• Experience selecting data products and technologies at project or enterprise level
• Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Capability to provide technical thought leadership to clients and internal teams
• Knowledge of at least three mainstream data technologies and awareness of broader trends
• Proactive, adaptable to uncertain requirements/priorities
• Experience managing or developing junior data professionals
• Desirable: experience with data governance, data lake architectures and cloud platforms
