Senior Data Backend Engineer

Build Stripe data infrastructure with Scala, Spark, and SQL as a Backend Engineer, Data in an office or remote location. Design reliable pipelines for critical business data.

This software engineering role supports Data Foundations across Stripe. You will create data services, distributed pipelines, and shared datasets for Product, Data Science, and GTM teams. The work includes data quality, reporting, and product metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and own data pipelines, models, and products
• Build infrastructure using Scala, Spark, and Airflow
• Manage service level agreements for data systems
• Refine data marts supporting GTM business reporting
• Track product metrics through data services

Requirements:

• Six or more years in software engineering
• Experience building data services or data-intensive applications
• Distributed data framework pipeline debugging experience
• Backend language knowledge and strong SQL experience
• Cross-functional communication and shared dataset architecture
