Senior Data Consultant – Databricks (Data Architecture & Modelling)

We're currently supporting a leading global consultancy with the appointment of a Senior Data Consultant in the UK.

About the Role

This is a hands-on data architecture and modeling role on Databricks, working directly with clients. You'll design the data (Medallion layers, data models, data quality and governance) and work alongside engineers to bring those designs to life. It isn't a pure engineering role: design, modeling and client work matter more than pipeline build.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will work across areas including:
• Modern data architecture and Medallion patterns
• Conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
• Data governance, ownership and stewardship
• Data lineage, metadata and data quality
• Data integration and transformation design
• Governed data products
• Translating business requirements into technical architecture and delivery plans
• The role would suit someone with a strong Data Engineering, Data Architecture or Data Consulting background who is equally comfortable working with technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Consulting experience is particularly important at the more senior level, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to focus on the commercial and business value behind the technology.

Required Skills

• Strong Data Engineering, Data Architecture or Data Consulting background
• Ability to operate across architecture, modelling, governance and engineering
• Ability to focus on the commercial and business value behind the technology
• Comfortable working with technical teams and senior business stakeholders
• Hands-on Databricks experience, including Medallion architecture and data modelling
• Client-facing consulting experience: running workshops, gathering requirements and making recommendations
• Strong SQL, with the ability to explore and interrogate data independently

Pay range and compensation package

• Salary: Up to £120,000
• Bonus: Up to approximately 40%
