Overview

In this role you lead design, delivery and governance of data pipelines to inform energy transition strategy and policy. You’ll work within a cross-disciplinary consultancy team, collaborating with data, AI, cyber security and engineering colleagues to build robust data solutions. The role combines hands-on data work with project delivery and business development in a fast-paced energy sector context. You will contribute to shaping low-carbon insights that influence policy and investment decisions, starting from day one in the heart of the energy transition.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and models to analyze low-carbon technologies and policies
  • Source, clean, process, and manipulate datasets to create a reliable evidence base; produce dashboards and visuals
  • Deliver quantitative analyses across multiple criteria to assess policy options and business models
  • Update and enhance existing Python-based models and ensure quality, security, reproducibility, and documentation
  • Manage APIs and system integrations, coordinating with third parties for reporting requirements
  • Lead release testing and contribute to continuous improvement of data services and tools
  • Oversee project delivery, guide analysts on methodology and QA, and manage client relationships
  • Support business development by shaping propositions and proposals and building stakeholder relationships
Key requirements
  • 4+ years in a data-focused analytical role
  • Strong interest in energy transition and climate change
  • Independent work capability within a multidisciplinary team
  • Advanced Python for data work, scripts, pipelines and API integration
  • Strong MS Excel for economic and quantitative analysis
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance analysis and automate delivery
  • JSON processing and manipulation
  • High numeracy with data handling and problem solving
  • Clear written, verbal and numerical communication with stakeholders
  • Time management and ability to manage delivery to client expectations
  • Graduate/postgraduate degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related numerate discipline
  • Comfort with end-to-end architectures and option exploration for future-state improvements
