Overview

In this role, you lead the technical design and delivery of Burson’s Fount data platform, turning product vision into scalable data pipelines and BI capabilities. You’ll shape architecture, mentor a junior engineer, and collaborate with Product Owners in an Agile setting to ensure reliable, scalable, and user-friendly analytics. You’ll work across data ingestion, AI enrichment, and cloud infrastructure to drive measurable reporting improvements for clients. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic engineering with delivery at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural design and delivery of data pipelines, services, and platform components
  • Collaborate with Product Owners in Agile Jira environment to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Build and maintain production-ready Python services, SQL transformations, star-schema models, and API integrations
  • Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and AI token costs with robust monitoring and incident response
  • Enhance analyst-facing configuration layers (Boolean searches, API ingestion, NocoDB workflows)
  • Operationalize AI-enabled enrichment frameworks with governance and cost controls
  • Deliver custom data engineering solutions integrating diverse datasets for scalable reporting
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and knowledge sharing
Key requirements
  • Substantial experience designing and operating production data platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, including Pandas, REST API integrations
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, ADLS), Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD
  • Proven track record in reliability engineering, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilities
  • Agile execution experience with Jira and collaboration with Product Owners
  • Familiarity with AI integration frameworks, LLM enrichment, NoSQL, Parquet formats
  • Exposure to low-code tools (NocoDB/Airtable), IaC (Terraform/Terragrunt) and BI tools (Power BI)
