Overview

In this role you will design, build and maintain data pipelines and storage solutions to enable analytics and ML, collaborating with data scientists and cross-functional teams. You’ll drive data quality and reliability across client projects while aligning with Solirius Reply’s client-focused delivery model. You will lead the design and deployment of new data models and pipelines, staying current with modern data stack trends. This position offers impact across multiple client engagements and opportunities to grow within a specialist data engineering practice.

Responsibilities
  • Develop data engineering solutions for client projects
  • Design and build data models and schemas to support business requirements
  • Create and maintain data ingestion/processing systems using tools like SQL, NoSQL, ETL frameworks, Luigi, Airflow, or Argo
  • Implement data storage solutions (relational, non-relational, or cloud-based)
  • Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to address data issues and opportunities
  • Stay updated on data engineering trends (modern data stack, big data, cloud computing)
  • Define processes to achieve operational excellence
  • Ensure data quality across projects and clients
  • Define and manage SLAs for datasets and processes
  • Lead the design, build and launch of new data models and pipelines
Key requirements
  • Experience in operating within data engineering teams and independently
  • Line/Team leadership experience
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS; GCP beneficial)
  • SQL and relational databases (e.g., MS SQL/Azure SQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Framework experience (Flask, Tornado or Django) and Docker
  • Experience with ETL pipelines (e.g., Luigi, Airflow, Argo)
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
  • Data acquisition and development of datasets with improved data quality
  • Preparing data for predictive/prescriptive modelling
  • Hands-on coding in Python
  • Reporting tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik)
  • GDPR and Government Service Standard (desirable)
