Senior Data Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own and shape the ClarusONE data platform, delivering robust data pipelines and raising platform quality at scale. You will set engineering standards, patterns, and governance to ensure reliability, security, and end-to-end traceability. You’ll collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, Software Engineering, and IT to align data initiatives with business needs, including Finance. This is a hands-on position with visible impact on platform direction and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Take technical ownership of platform components and ensure quality and consistency
  • Establish and evolve engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards
  • Define reusable patterns and frameworks across the data platform (e.g., layered/medallion architecture)
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, cost efficiency, scalability, and reliability
  • Contribute to target architecture and long-term platform direction
  • Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, ADF, Python)
  • Apply test-driven development, monitoring, logging, and observability practices
  • Own complex technical solutions and drive root-cause problem solving
  • Support production issues and implement durable improvements
  • Ensure data lineage and traceability across the lifecycle and protect sensitive data
  • Work with IT to meet governance and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX)
  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (Azure, AKS) and mature CI/CD pipelines
  • Advance platform evolution including re-architecture and migrations
  • Share best practices and collaborate across Analytics, Data Insights, Software Engineering, and IT
  • Present technical work to diverse audiences, including Finance, and build strong stakeholder relationships
Key requirements
  • 6+ years' experience in data engineering or platform engineering
  • 2+ years in senior or lead capacity
  • 4+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and governance processes
  • Advanced SQL and Python with large-scale data pipelines
  • Hands-on with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Databricks on Azure (preferred)
  • Experience delivering data lineage and traceability in regulated environments (e.g., SOX)
  • Experience contributing to platform migrations, re-architecture, or modernization
  • Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical and senior stakeholders (e.g., Finance)
