Overview

In this client-facing Data Engineer role, you contribute to building the data infrastructure underpinning BI across projects for our clients. You work within the Digital Centre of Excellence, sharing knowledge with BI and Data professionals while developing digital tools and pipelines. You will interface with project teams and occasionally external stakeholders, shaping data architecture and delivery processes. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to deepen expertise in the Microsoft cloud data stack and modern data architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Develop data pipelines and orchestration to enable BI workflows
  • Build and maintain data warehouses and data marts
  • Design and implement ELT/ETL, medallion architecture and Lakehouse concepts
  • Work with Azure Fabric and Azure services in data engineering workflows
  • Adhere to a structured development lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, handover, support)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including clients, to ensure timely data access for project delivery
  • Manage version control and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps
  • Interface with the BI development team to provide required data access and support
  • Participate in continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the center of excellence
Key requirements
  • 2+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 1 year on the Microsoft cloud data stack
  • DP-600 or DP700 (Fabric Data Engineer) certification is required/strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, PowerShell, DAX, M
  • Strong data integration, data warehousing, and data pipeline development skills
  • Experience with ELT/ETL, medallion architecture, Lakehouse design
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps for CI/CD
  • Knowledge of data security and data structures
  • Experience working in consultancy environments and managing stakeholders
