Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and maintain data platforms to support complex client requirements, including public sector and National Security environments. You will lead engineering delivery, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and translate business needs into scalable data solutions. You will shape data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and modern DataOps practices to enable informed decision-making. You will work closely with data architects, scientists, and analysts to deliver robust data flows and drive technical strategy. This role offers the opportunity to influence data engineering capabilities and work on high-impact, mission-critical projects.

• Design, build, and improve data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop and deploy data engineering components using software engineering and DataOps practices
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Work with data architects, scientists, analysts, and other teams to deliver data flows
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure and services
• Apply data management, orchestration, security, and data modelling principles
• Communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
• Build cross-team relationships and adapt to evolving tools and techniques
• Lead data engineering teams, establish delivery frameworks, and define work packages
• Lead technical design sessions and influence data product selections
• Develop broader expertise across data architecture, strategy, modelling, and analytics
• Demonstrate growing depth and breadth across data engineering technologies

• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL or similar languages
• Extensive experience with AWS
• Experience building, maintaining and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes
• Understanding of data engineering principles, data management and data modelling
• Experience with data orchestration and reliable workflows
• Experience hosting data infrastructure in cloud services
• Knowledge of data security principles
• Experience applying software engineering practices to data development and deployment
