Senior Data Engineer

In this role you will deliver Tripadvisor’s first-class data products by building and coordinating scalable data pipelines and platforms. You’ll be part of the Data Platform Enterprise Services Team, enabling data users across the organization with reliable datasets and analytics-ready information. You’ll work on cutting-edge, cloud-based infrastructure with real-time responsiveness to support product, finance, CRM, and marketing decisions. • Provide high-quality datasets via curation and consolidation from large-scale sources
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines on terabytes of data using Snowflake and BigQuery
• Develop and improve enterprise data marts with efficient, scalable data models
• Partner with analytics, data science, CRM, and ML teams to deliver data solutions
• Ensure data mart integrity, validation, and documentation
• Manage SLA and dependency tracking for data pipelines
• Create technical documentation and present at design reviews
• Resolve pipeline failures and implement anomaly detection
• Collaborate with analytics, product owners, and frontend developers on tracking solutions
• Lead medium to large projects with technical specifications and planning
• Mentor junior team members

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• 6+ years of data engineering or software development experience
• Experience with large datasets (terabyte scale) and big data tools
• Relational databases experience (MS SQL, PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Strong data modeling and enterprise data mart experience
• Proven ETL design and implementation with SLA and monitoring
• Advanced SQL and data exploration skills on large datasets
• Proficiency in Python or equivalent; strong software engineering practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work fast-paced environments
• Proven technical leadership for medium to large projects and deadlines
• Ability to mentor and work autonomously on data vertical
