Senior data Engineer Anti Fraud

In this Senior Data Engineer contractor role within Vanguard Europe’s Enterprise Security & Fraud team, you will design and build resilient data pipelines and real-time analytics to combat financial crime. You will shape ELT workflows and support the client experience with scalable, secure data cfor decision-making. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to raise data quality and enforce best practices while owning deployment and operations across environments. This role offers the chance to impact security-focused data solutions at scale in a hybrid work setting.

• Design and implement real-time data pipelines for critical decision-making
• Build ELT pipelines from source to data presentation for internal customers
• Write high-quality, testable code; conduct reviews, create tests and documentation
• Collaborate with junior/senior developers, scrum master and product owner to enable client experiences
• Drive continuous improvement of technical standards, methodologies, and processes
• Own deployment and operations across development, test, and production environments
• Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, retrospectives)

• Experience as a data engineer
• Strong Python and SQL
• Cloud-based environment experience (AWS preferred)
• Proficiency with PySpark/Pandas
• Knowledge of graph databases (preferred)
• Familiarity with data quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations)
• Experience building cloud infrastructure using IaC (CloudFormation/Terraform)
• Understanding of testing, code quality, and development best practices
• Good communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Awareness of agile/scrum methodology
