Senior Data Engineer (Azure / Databricks)

About the Opportunity

We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on data engineering professional with strong expertise in Databricks, Microsoft Azure, and modern cloud-based data platforms.

The ideal candidate is an end-to-end data engineer with experience designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions. They should also have a solid understanding of solution architecture and experience working across multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms using Databricks and Azure technologies.
• Build end-to-end data engineering solutions, from data ingestion and transformation to analytics-ready datasets.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
• Contribute to solution architecture and cloud design discussions.
• Develop and support enterprise-grade data platforms across multi-cloud environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.
• Ensure data solutions meet security, governance, and scalability requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Solid understanding of data architecture and solution design.
• Experience building end-to-end data engineering solutions.
• Hands-on experience working in multi-cloud environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and modern data engineering tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with modern data lakehouse architectures.
