Senior Data Engineer Database Infrastructure

Lead PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and data pipeline engineering for scalable infrastructure supporting a collaborative video game development environment in Canada. Remote work is available.

This senior position suits an experienced data professional with at least five years in data engineering, database administration, or data operations. You will optimize database systems, develop reliable pipelines, and support large-scale analytics and data warehousing. The work includes self-hosted infrastructure, SQL, Linux/Unix environments, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, upgrade, monitor, and optimize database systems
• Design and maintain ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines
• Manage self-hosted databases for scalability and reliability
• Integrate sources while protecting data integrity and consistency
• Lead initiatives, coordinate teams, and mentor colleagues

Requirements:

• At least five years of relevant industry experience
• Strong PostgreSQL, MongoDB, relational, and NoSQL expertise
• Advanced SQL and Linux/Unix experience
• Dagster or Apache Airflow orchestration experience
• Data warehousing and relational modeling knowledge
