Senior Data Platform Software Engineer

Build reliable data platforms with Python and SQL at Affirm, supporting remote-first infrastructure for teams operating data applications at scale.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data and Storage Services team, you will build, operate, and extend platform capabilities across analytical infrastructure. Your work spans deployment automation, access control, integrations, observability, and self-service tooling. You will also contribute to semantic layer infrastructure, agentic application patterns, and AI-native data tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design platform features for provisioning, deployments, access, and service lifecycle management
• Integrate CI/CD, identity, secrets, APIs, and event-driven systems
• Implement secure analytical data access, masking, schemas, and grants
• Automate recurring support workflows and eliminate manual administration
• Build telemetry, alerts, logs, runbooks, and incident response patterns

Requirements:

• Experience operating Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar platforms
• Experience with containers, Docker, CI/CD, and production deployment automation
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for platform services
• Experience building internal platforms or developer self-service tooling
• Strong operational ownership, communication, and collaboration skills
