Overview

As Senior Data Science Manager in the Global Energy Management (GEM) Centre of Excellence, you will shape the data platform strategy and delivery to enable critical decision making and ML capabilities. You will lead architecture, design, and migration efforts while guiding external delivery partners and cross‑functional teams. The role sits at the intersection of data science, architecture and business strategy, influencing GEM’s data landscape and contributing to the Net Zero journey. You’ll drive impactful data solutions in a dynamic environment, with a clear focus on scalable, secure, and sustainable outcomes.

• Lead the architecture, design, delivery, testing and ongoing development of data solutions for energy management
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into scalable data platforms
• Develop a strategic migration roadmap to modernise and simplify existing data platforms
• Act as product owner for data architecture and solutions within GEM
• Oversee delivery through external development and support partners and manage a project portfolio
• Represent GEMs data strategy at senior leadership and enterprise forums
• Shape and evolve machine learning and data visualization capabilities

• Extensive experience in data science, data architecture, data migration, and modern data engineering practices
• Ability to design scalable data solutions that convert business requirements into actionable insights
• Data warehousing, database design and schema development experience
• Azure ML, Synapse, AWS, SQL, and Unix-based environments
• Data governance, master data management and testing frameworks
• Machine learning, statistical analysis and data visualization techniques
• Experience leading external delivery teams and third-party suppliers
• Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies
• Experience delivering strategic technology and data transformation programmes
• Energy trading or energy management experience (advantageous)
