In this role you will design and deploy sophisticated data models to advance AD/ADAS solutions within the Autonomy team. You will connect data strategy with real-world Toyota fleet data, simulators, and production workflows, aiming to improve perception and planning performance. You’ll collaborate across time zones and stakeholders to shape data-driven ML solutions that meet safety and cost objectives. - Develop data strategies to collect, sample, label, and leverage large data from fleet, test vehicles, and simulators to improve model performance
- Lead data-related activities across the autonomy team and collaborate with stakeholders across the company
- Analyze large-scale data to propose data curation, model improvement, and evaluation techniques
- Develop evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess planner performance and identify edge cases
- Design and improve scalable data pipelines and automation for machine learning and performance evaluation
- Enhance team capabilities in data science by leading initiatives and mentoring team members
- Masters or PhD in a quantitative field related to Science and Engineering
- 5+ years in AD/ADAS, Robotics, Computer Vision, or Behavioral Planning
- 3+ years in data science including ML, A/B testing, and mathematical modeling
- Experience building ML algorithms and infrastructure: data processing, ablation studies, evaluation
- Experience coding in Python for data science, databases, and cloud services
