Overview

Senior Database Developer at Credit Benchmark, London. You own and evolve the data platform that underpins our credit risk analytics, working across London, Bangalore, and New York. You shape data models, schemas and performance, balancing maintainability with scale as we integrate modern data fabrics alongside SQL Server. You collaborate with product and operations teams to deliver data solutions and drive architectural decisions. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and impact in a fast-growing fintech data company.

• Maintain and enhance the data platform powering Credit Benchmark’s products
• Analyze and troubleshoot production DB issues with root-cause analysis and performance diagnostics
• Design and implement database solutions for business and technical problems
• Enhance backend data platforms to meet new requirements
• Maintain SQL Server-based databases and reporting solutions (SSIS/SSRS)
• Build data pipelines using dbt and existing SSIS/SSRS
• Own schema and data model design decisions using warehousing principles
• Evolve platform structure as data volumes grow, balancing performance and cost
• Document architecture, design decisions and data flows for maintainability
• Collaborate with frontend developers and Product/Ops across London, Bangalore, NY
• Follow secure coding practices and Agile squad delivery

• 8+ years of SQL Server experience
• Strong SQL Server skills (SQL 2019+)
• Expert T-SQL
• Performance tuning and index optimization
• In-Memory OLTP knowledge
• Proven data architecture ability with production DBs
• Experience with Redgate SQL Monitor for production diagnostics
• DB migrations, deployment scripts, versioning and rollback strategies
• Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools experience
• dbt experience for data transformation
• Power BI experience (paginated/report-server reporting)
• Understanding of data warehousing models (Inmon, Kimball)
• DB lifecycle knowledge including design, implementation, release
• Git, Jira, and SQL Sentry experience
• Secure coding and strong analytical troubleshooting
• Excellent English communications and Agile familiarity
