Senior Db2 IMS Database Administrator

Lead Db2 for z/OS and IMS database administration remotely in Canada, applying performance tuning, recovery, and production support expertise.

DXC Technology seeks a database administrator with at least 10 years of hands-on Db2 for z/OS and IMS DB/DC experience. You will support business-critical production and data-sharing environments. The work includes database maintenance, monitoring, tuning, recovery, and application DBA support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support Db2 and IMS production databases
  • Monitor health, performance, storage utilization, and availability
  • Execute REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, and UNLOAD utilities
  • Troubleshoot incidents and perform root-cause analysis
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery exercises

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of Db2 and IMS experience
  • Strong IBM Db2 for z/OS administration expertise
  • Strong IBM IMS DB administration experience
  • Knowledge of SQL, JCL, and TSO/ISPF
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency authorization
