Senior Db2 z/OS Database Administrator

Administer enterprise Db2 for z/OS environments at BMO while applying SQL optimization and database performance tuning expertise. This hybrid role requires in-office presence two days weekly.

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will support BMO’s Mainframe Platform & Application Services team. You will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable database solutions while partnering with application development teams. The work includes Db2 administration, logical and physical design, security, connectivity, and enterprise change management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and support enterprise Db2 for z/OS environments
• Deploy database changes through established production change processes
• Optimize SQL, queries, access paths, and database performance
• Troubleshoot distributed application and connectivity issues
• Develop database security standards and operational procedures

Requirements:

• Seven or more years supporting Db2 for z/OS environments
• Experience with Db2 z/OS Version 12 or higher
• Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and mainframe technologies
• Experience with security, backup, recovery, and high availability
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
