Senior Detection Engineer Microsoft Sentinel

Build advanced threat detections with Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, and Defender XDR across PSP Investments’ global security environment in Montréal. Support production security operations alongside specialized teams.

As Senior Developer, Threat Defense and Detection Engineering, you will turn intelligence, hunting, incident response, and testing recommendations into prioritized use cases. You will engineer detections, preventive controls, and automations across Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, CrowdStrike Falcon, and Azure DevOps. The role supports threat defense services within PSP Investments’ Security Operations Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design scalable KQL detections for Sentinel and Defender XDR
• Implement controls, rules, and signatures in security tools
• Assess telemetry coverage and tune required log sources
• Release detections as code through Azure DevOps
• Support production detections, incidents, and containment controls

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience
• At least five years of hands-on cybersecurity experience
• Advanced Kusto Query Language design and optimization skills
• Enterprise Microsoft Sentinel experience with analytics and automation
• Python, PowerShell, Git, code review, and CI/CD practice
