Overview

In this Senior DevOps Engineer role, you will help shape the Transport Platform within Lloyds Banking Group, delivering secure, scalable cloud-native DevOps capabilities. You’ll design and operate CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-native solutions across cloud environments, driving automation, security, and self-service capabilities to empower cross-functional teams. The position focuses on modernising architecture with microservices and a data-driven approach to transformation. You will work with diverse stakeholders to enable autonomous delivery and resilient platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and operate CI/CD pipelines across cloud-native platforms
  • Engineer Kubernetes-native solutions for multi-cloud environments (GCP, Istio, storage, networking)
  • Integrate security and quality tooling (SonarQube, AquaSec) into automated pipelines
  • Automate manual processes to enable self-service capabilities and reduce operational overhead
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to enable delivery pipelines
  • Support platform resilience and scalability through robust engineering practices
  • Contribute to Communities of Practice and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster an enablement culture where teams own their delivery pipelines
Key requirements
  • Hands-on DevOps experience in cloud-native environments
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Harness, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform
  • Kubernetes-native engineering in cloud contexts (GCP preferred)
  • Knowledge of security and quality tooling integration into pipelines
  • Experience with automation-first approaches and self-service platforms
  • Strong stakeholder communication across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Desirable knowledge: Liquibase, Nexus Repository, Dynatrace, incident post-mortems/root-cause analysis
