In this Senior Developer role within UAL’s Student Support Services, you will help deliver new digital functionality for student information and booking services, built on PHP/JS and managed via CMS platforms. You’ll collaborate across Digital & Technology to modernise the tech stack and support a range of digital products in an Agile setting. You’ll engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and shape new applications, contributing to a better student and staff experience. This position offers hands-on development, mentoring, and opportunities to influence systems at scale in a world‑class university.

- Develop and support web applications and digital features for student information and booking services using PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and AJAX/JSON
- Work with core CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Craft, Laravel) to deliver new functionality
- Design and build foundational systems to reduce and realign the tech stack and modernise ways of working
- Collaborate on projects with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions in an Agile environment
- Provide development team support, mentoring, and cover as needed
- Participate in Agile/Scrum practices and contribute to delivery of software and product initiatives
- Extensive experience with PHP 8+; MySQL; JavaScript; HTML5; CSS3; AJAX/JSON
- Strong CMS experience with Drupal, WordPress, Craft, Laravel
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidance
- Knowledge of microservices, APIs (build and integration) and AWS
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal/communication skills
- Experience in a development team with mentoring responsibilities
