Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver innovative solutions from concept to deployment and support
  • Build scalable applications, APIs, scripts and automated workflows using Python, TypeScript, C#, SQL and cloud platforms
  • Develop secure, reliable integrations between Menzies platforms and third parties using APIs, web services, databases and automation tools
  • Collaborate with teams across the firm to understand challenges and deliver practical tech solutions
  • Leverage Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery and AI capabilities to enable better decision making
  • Promote engineering excellence with modern practices: Git/GitHub, CI/CD, testing, documentation, code reviews, monitoring
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing existing apps, automations and integrations
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data-driven applications
  • Embed security, GDPR and data protection into every solution
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to developing best practices within the Innovation Team
Key requirements
  • Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript; experience with SQL; cloud-based development
  • Experience with APIs, web services, data formats and relational databases
  • Experience building internal applications, automations or integrations used in live environments
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub, testing, code reviews, documentation and deployment
  • Experience with integration platforms, automation tools, low-code solutions and cloud technologies
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure or Terraform is beneficial but not essential
  • Good understanding of GDPR, cyber security, secure development, access management and data protection
  • Ability to balance rapid innovation with reliable, scalable solutions
  • Around 3–5 years' experience in software development or related roles
  • Strong communication skills
