Overview

In this role you will help build and evolve a new Developer Experience team, focusing on reliable, scalable, self-service platform tooling on AWS. You’ll shape the container platform and observability stack to reduce toil and speed up product delivery. You work with cross-functional teams to improve reliability across environments and mentor others. This is a growth-focused position in a fast-moving company that values pragmatic, secure platform design and continuous learning.

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve AWS environments and shared platform infrastructure for reliability and ease of use
  • Design and build self-service tooling for engineering to deploy and operate services
  • Automate common workflows and standardize infrastructure using IaC and platform abstractions
  • Define platform-level monitoring and alerting standards with meaningful signals
  • Enable product teams to use shared metrics to improve service reliability
  • Own and evolve continuous delivery and release capabilities for safe, rapid deployments
  • Stay current with best practices in hosting, CD, and developer experience
  • Upskill and mentor other engineers in the team
  • Operate independently after onboarding and share lessons from real-world experience
  • Contribute to and evolve secure, standardised platform capabilities
Key requirements
  • Proven track record of owning and operating web platforms in production at scale
  • Strong experience with AWS in a production environment
  • Experience defining metrics, monitoring, and alerting for web platforms
  • Experience with platform-level security controls and observability
  • Experience designing and operating CD systems with zero-downtime deployments
  • Experience incident response in on-call environments and post-incident improvements
  • Comfort with command-line tools
  • Proficient in at least one programming language used for automation/tools
  • Enjoy solving cross-cutting problems with cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities
  • Enjoy mentoring within the team and wider engineering org
