Senior Development Manager

In this Senior Development Manager role, you drive large-scale residential schemes from inception through delivery, overseeing pre-development and liaising with internal teams and external consultants. You will lead multidisciplinary groups to secure planning consents and optimise project viability for multi-hundred acre sites. The position sits within a forward-thinking developer’s investment arm, focusing on packaging serviced parcels for disposal and collaboration with external partners. • Lead the pre-development programme across large residential sites and coordinate cross-functional teams (Land, Sales, Commercial, Technical)
• Oversee Land contracts, ensure contractual obligations and timely readiness within pre-development plans
• Collaborate with technical consultants to achieve commercially optimised planning consents
• Align Land & Planning strategy with political and statutory planning landscapes
• Manage internal and external project teams (architects, engineers, planning consultants) to deliver bespoke services
• Drive project management improvements across key development sites
• Support delivery of a 3000-unit scheme through end-to-end development
• Engage with stakeholders to maintain viability and planning success throughout the project lifecycle

• Experience leading a team of landowners and managing large consented sites through front-end development
• Proven ability to work within the Planning System and achieve planning consents
• Strong commercial awareness to maintain site viability during development
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary internal and external teams
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Broad knowledge of the residential development sector and key stakeholders
