Overview
In this Development Manager role, you provide the client’s developer expertise across the full project lifecycle, shaping strategic direction, business cases, viability, and financial modelling. You act as the client lead on planning, land issues and third-party coordination, driving schemes to delivery. You’ll build strong external relationships and lead development opportunities with cross-functional teams. This is a growth-focused role within an expanding Development Management team, offering international project exposure and impact on project viability and success.

- Report to Development Directors and manage projects through all development phases
- Lead bid submissions to win new work
- Coordinate client commissions administration
- Lead on new development opportunities
- Secure statutory approvals per client brief
- Write and contribute to business cases
- Conduct market analysis
- Maintain relationships with external consultants and public-sector stakeholders
- Secure fee proposals, analyse tenders, and appoint consultants
- Assemble development teams and collaborate through design, planning, cost/value management, procurement and construction phases
- Oversee consultant teams to appoint Main Contractor
- Ensure handover to Project Manager for delivery phase
- Monitor project delivery and serve as client’s main contact
- Drive projects to achieve delivery milestones
- Strong post-qualification experience in industry
- Experience in mixed-use and office development
- Experience across all development phases
- Full and clean driving licence
- Excellent verbal, written communication and IT skills
- Strong understanding of RIBA design stages, planning procedures, development control and building regulations
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft packages
- Excellent working knowledge of Argus Developer
