Overview

In this role you drive the growth of Willmott Dixon’s development solutions in the South region by delivering the current pipeline of mixed-use regeneration projects and expanding the opportunity book. You will work closely with delivery and preconstruction teams, customers, funders and consultants to shape deliverable solutions and secure new opportunities. You’ll lead bids, manage risks, and nurture key relationships to sustain margins and project success. The role offers hybrid working across offices and sites, with national travel as the scope broadens. You will contribute to a values-led, growth-focused, sustainable business.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver the existing pipeline with development and preconstruction teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, funders and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Establish development management services solutions and deliver through to completion
  • Identify and evaluate alternative funding options
  • Create and maintain development appraisals and report findings
  • Coordinate with regional preconstruction teams to meet margin requirements
  • Manage consultant relationships on projects
  • Identify risks/opportunities and develop contingency plans to optimise returns
  • Lead development opportunity bids and feasibilities to successful outcomes
  • Represent the development solutions team publicly and grow the network
  • Collaborate with other regional development managers to grow pipelines
  • Support on business development, bids, tenders, events and key accounts
Key requirements
  • Passion for identifying new opportunities and engaging strategically to deliver customer outcomes
  • Experience in a development-related function (in-house developer/contractor desirable)
  • Strong business development experience in delivering projects with the public sector
  • Commercial acumen with development appraisals and financial modelling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presenting
  • IT proficiency: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and appraisal software
