Senior DevOps Engineer

In this role you will own and evolve the core compute, cloud, and IaC platforms used by delivery and restaurant engineers to build at scale. You will work within the Infrastructure team to operate Kubernetes clusters, cloud networking, and self-serve provisioning tools, driving reliability and security. You’ll blend hands-on ops with production-grade automation to reduce toil and enable teams to self-serve environments in AWS. • Own end-to-end infrastructure initiatives (Kubernetes, cloud, networking, IaC) with limited oversight
• Decompose work, estimate, document technical decisions and interactions of components
• Design and operate secure, scalable AWS systems and coordinate cross-team support
• Plan and drive improvements to compute and cloud platform using data and metrics
• Build self-service tooling and IaC for safe and consistent environment provisioning
• Support teams via code/design reviews and knowledge sharing (guides, playbooks, tech talks)
• Act as first responder during on-call rotations; lead RCA and incident mitigation
• Drive reliability, readiness (alerts, dashboards, runbooks), and developer experience across the platform
• Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring through interviewing and tech talks
• Partner with platform teams across Wolt, Deliveroo, and DoorDash to align standards and roadmaps

• End-to-end ownership of complex technical initiatives
• Deep hands-on Kubernetes and container orchestration in production (scaling, upgrades, multi-tenancy)
• Strong AWS experience including networking, IAM, account structuring, cost management
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) and provisioning frameworks
• Solid software engineering skills (Go, Python, or similar) for internal tooling
• Knowledge of supporting technologies (Kafka, gRPC, Postgres/MongoDB, Redis, CI/CD like GitHub Actions) and trade-off analysis
• understanding of SRE principles including incident response, fault tolerance, capacity planning
• Experience mentoring/unblocking engineers; contributing to hiring and tech talks
