Senior DevOps Platform Engineer

In this role you will design, build and operate scalable cloud platforms in AWS and Kubernetes. You will automate deployments and CI/CD pipelines, supporting containerised applications and GitOps practices to improve reliability and security. You’ll work closely with development, security and architecture teams to accelerate software delivery at enterprise scale. This is a hands-on position shaping cloud infrastructure and automation across complex environments, with a focus on modern, cloud-native platforms. The opportunity centers on driving robust, automated, and secure deployment ecosystems.
Responsibilities- Design, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS environments
- Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation and automation frameworks
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions and GitOps
- Manage Kubernetes platforms including EKS, container orchestration, Helm deployments and cluster optimisation
- Support application containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes-based architectures
- Implement GitOps delivery models using ArgoCD and Helm
- Develop reusable automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration management and deployments
- Improve platform reliability, scalability and security through automation and best practices
- Support cloud migrations from traditional data centre environments into modern cloud-native platforms
- Implement monitoring, observability and logging across distributed systems
- Collaborate with development, security and architecture teams to improve software delivery processes
- Strong commercial experience as a DevOps/Platform/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
- Extensive hands-on AWS experience (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, networking)
- IaC experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Kubernetes experience including EKS, Helm, RBAC, networking
- CI/CD pipeline experience with GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar
- Linux systems administration and cloud infrastructure knowledge
- Containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes
- Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef or similar
- Scripting in Bash, Python or PowerShell
- Understanding of cloud security principles (IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, compliance)
