Senior Director Accounting Operations

Lead accounting operations at the Ontario Medical Association in Toronto, guiding accounts payable, accounts receivable, HST, and finance transformation.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Finance, this Senior Director leads accounting professionals across core operational functions. The position focuses on strong controls, efficient service delivery, accurate reconciliations, and continuous improvement. You will modernize processes through automation, workflow optimization, and technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, HST, and expense functions
• Coach, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
• Maintain policies, procedures, controls, and supporting documentation
• Lead procure-to-pay automation and workflow modernization
• Track efficiency, control, data quality, and service improvements

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or equivalent
• CPA designation and ten plus years of progressive experience
• Leadership experience across accounts payable, receivable, and HST
• Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls
• Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills
