Responsibilities
  • Set direction for data strategy execution, governance, quality, and performance across the organization
  • Define and execute the strategic vision for data management aligned with business goals, regulatory expectations, and transformation objectives
  • Build and lead large, cross-functional teams with effective organizational design and workforce planning
  • Develop scalable, well-controlled data management practices to improve data quality, accessibility, and trust
  • Collaborate with Business, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to align investments with data objectives
  • Drive execution discipline, governance routines, issue remediation, and continuous improvement
  • Implement and mature data governance frameworks including standards, ownership, lineage, metadata, and accountability
  • Identify and scale automation and AI-enabled capabilities to enhance monitoring, workflow, and decision-making
  • Lead data quality initiatives with proper controls, measurement, remediation, and business ownership
  • Provide risk, control, and operational oversight with strong governance and regulatory awareness
  • Manage budgets, resources, and investment priorities to support strategic plans
  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent within an inclusive, high-performance culture
  • Represent the organization in senior leadership forums, communicating data priorities and value
  • Build trusted, cross-functional partnerships to navigate a matrixed organization
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
  • Significant experience in financial services or a regulated industry with data management expertise
  • Senior leadership experience in large-scale data governance, operations, or related functions
  • Proven ability to lead matrixed organizations, with strong people leadership and organizational design
  • Track record of delivering transformation and modernization at scale
  • Experience applying automation, data, and AI-driven capabilities to improve outcomes
  • Deep understanding of operational risk, controls, governance, and regulatory expectations
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across multiple domains
  • Experience with budgets, workforce planning, and strategy investment prioritization
