Senior Director Engineering Information Technology

Lead Faculty of Engineering information technology strategy at the University of Waterloo, guiding governance, infrastructure, and service delivery. This is a full-time permanent appointment.

The Senior Director provides strategic and operational leadership across Engineering IT. You will align technology with teaching, learning, research, and administration through enterprise applications, information security, research computing, and client services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute Faculty-wide information technology strategies
• Oversee infrastructure, applications, security, research computing, and user services
• Align Engineering IT governance with University frameworks
• Manage operating and capital budgets and procurement
• Lead technology transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in a related field
• 10+ years of progressive information systems leadership experience
• Minimum five years in a senior leadership role
• Experience in large decentralized research-intensive academic environments
• Research computing and specialized instructional environment knowledge
