Senior Distributed Systems Engineer

Design distributed systems at Amazon with CloudTune, using large-scale data processing and infrastructure automation to support Amazon-scale workloads.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will build systems for Scaling Efficiency within Amazon's CloudTune organization. You will serve internal customers across science, capacity management, and engineering. The work includes workflow orchestration, platform reliability, and translating ambiguous business problems into well-architected technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and operate distributed systems for Amazon-scale workloads
• Lead technical strategy and architecture for your area
• Build generic, composable, reusable services
• Drive monitoring, alarming, incident response, and on-call ownership
• Partner with scientists, data engineers, and capacity managers

Requirements:

• Five-plus years of non-internship software development experience
• Five-plus years programming with at least one language
• Five-plus years leading design or architecture
• Experience mentoring, leading technically, or leading engineering teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
