Senior Distributed Systems Software Engineer

Build distributed backend systems for Splunk Enterprise Security, applying cloud technologies, query optimization, and Python or Go. Work across deployment environments.

As a senior software developer, you will connect requirements with implementation for backend services and data-processing workflows. The position emphasizes scalable, performant, reliable, secure, maintainable systems across cloud and on-premises deployments. You will collaborate with architects, product leaders, UX, multidisciplinary teams, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide execution across multiple teams and platform product areas
• Design reliable services and data-processing workflows
• Apply secure coding, code review, and architecture standards
• Address customer concerns and complex production problems
• Build product architecture and operating-environment knowledge

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years, or master’s with 4+ years
• Software development experience with distributed systems or databases
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud technologies
• Python or Go/Golang development experience
• AI tools experience supporting development and testing efficiency
