Overview

In this role you will lead the design and verification of FPGA firmware and embedded software to enable high-performance, robust electronic systems. You will own multi-disciplinary projects, mentor engineers, and contribute to the development of SEA’s advanced electronic solutions. You’ll work across the full life cycle from requirements to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities. This is a chance to shape electronic engineering standards and support products through manufacturing and service life.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and verify FPGA firmware using VHDL/Verilog
  • Develop and optimize embedded code for high-performance systems
  • Own full lifecycle from requirements to integration
  • Collaborate on schematic capture and PCB design using Altium
  • Support component selection and signal integrity analysis
  • Provide technical support to a multidisciplinary team on projects
  • Mentor engineers and share best practices
  • Support reviews and approvals of electronic designs per standards
  • Contribute to company standards for electronics engineering including CAD models and technical reports
  • Support SEA products through manufacturing, installation and service life
  • Assist in bids/proposals with engineering estimates and customer/supplier interfacing
Key requirements
  • Expert in VHDL/Verilog and FPGA toolchains (Intel Quartus, AMD Vivado)
  • Strong understanding of digital electronics and embedded systems
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and real-time systems
  • Experience with analogue and digital circuit design
  • PCB design understanding from schematic to layout
  • Full lifecycle experience from requirements to user sign-off on multi-disciplinary programmes
  • Experience in requirements capture, analysis, V&V and configuration management
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and execute technical assignments
