Overview
In this senior, hands-on role you own major software work packages for mission-critical satellite communications products. You will combine software architecture, C/C++ development and embedded Linux across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with hardware, firmware and international teams. You’ll help build highly reliable systems and drive software quality, security and engineering best practices. This position offers leadership exposure across architecture reviews and mentoring, within a global technology organisation focused on safety-critical applications. Your work will have a meaningful impact on core products used in satellite and maritime safety domains.
Responsibilities- Own major software work packages across satellite communications products
- Lead software architecture and design reviews
- Develop in C/C++ on embedded Linux and related subsystems
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and international teams across the product lifecycle
- Mentor engineers and promote software quality, security and best practices
- Support CI/CD, automated testing and hardware-in-the-loop workflows
- Extensive experience developing embedded Linux systems with strong C/C++
- Good working knowledge of Yocto and custom embedded Linux distros
- Experience with embedded networking and network products (advantageous)
- Understanding of RTOS, bare-metal firmware and ARM-based MCUs
- Strong experience with CI/CD, Git-based development, automated testing and HIL
