In this Senior Embedded Software Engineer role, you’ll develop and refine embedded software for medical devices in a cross-disciplinary team. You’ll collaborate with electronics engineers, scientists, and designers to reimagine diagnostics technologies used in kits, sensors, and surgical systems. You’ll apply embedded C and other languages within ISO 13485, EN 60601, IVDD or IEC 62304 contexts, contributing to life-saving devices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and improve diagnostics technologies for medical devices
- Develop embedded software for diagnostics kits, IVD sensors, and surgical systems
- Ensure compliance with medical device standards (ISO 13485, EN 60601, IVDD, IEC 62304)
- Work closely with electronics engineers, physicists, scientists and design engineers
- Contribute to invention and enhancement of sensor-based medical devices
- Support product development lifecycle from concept to production
- Participate in technical reviews and documentation
- Support potential relocation and onboarding processes
- Embedded software experience
- Medical devices knowledge and standards familiarity (ISO 13485, EN 60601, IVDD, IEC 62304)
- Strong programming skills (Embedded C, plus C#, C++, Java)
- Degree in software, engineering or electronics
- Experience in a commercial organisation
- Location in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire or willingness to relocate
