Senior Engineer

As a Chartered Principal Electrical Engineer in Arup’s London SIT team, you will lead electrical and MEP design across global projects, driving technical excellence and multidisciplinary coordination. You’ll shape design approaches for net-zero transitions, mentoring junior engineers and guiding resources to deliver high-impact outcomes. This role blends technical leadership with client engagement, project management and business stewardship. • Lead the design development of electrical systems from concept through construction, coordinating with other disciplines
• Produce drawings, reports, specifications and calculations for electrical/MEP designs
• Coordinate design analyses and optimise systems with the team
• Organise and lead technical resources to deliver project objectives
• Support the design programme development and project resourcing
• Represent the Electrical discipline in internal and external meetings
• Develop others through guidance, training and feedback; potential Line Manager responsibilities
• Possibly act as Project Manager for resourcing, commercial delivery and project success

• Chartered or Incorporated status in electrical engineering
• Proven experience as an electrical discipline lead on multidisciplinary projects
• Strong communication and influencing skills to manage client relationships
• Ability to delegate tasks to junior team members and mentor others
• Experience in mentoring and supporting chartership aspirations (IET Mentor)
• Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary, global, sustainability-focused environment
