Overview
As a Senior Engineer, you will build and scale our backend systems that manage remittance flows across countries. You will collaborate with Product, Operations, and Support to deliver a reliable, secure platform while shaping how we integrate with multiple third-party payment providers. You’ll own backend architecture and data pipelines, balancing performance with real-world reliability. This early-member role offers substantial impact on team culture and engineering practices. You will work with a modern stack (Kotlin/Java, PostgreSQL, AWS) and influence how we expand to new markets.
Responsibilities- Build and unify interfaces for dozens of third-party payment integrations
- Own backend system architecture and implementation
- Develop performant, resilient data flows with security in mind
- Collaborate with product to ship features regularly
- Iterate and provide timeline estimates
- Support scaling to higher volume and complexity
- Build internal tools for customer support and growth initiatives
- 7+ years of backend development experience
- Proficiency with Kotlin or Java/JVM
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL
- Experience with AWS services (S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda)
- Experience designing and managing complex third-party API integrations
- Experience delivering under real-world performance and reliability constraints
- Strong communication and stakeholder management in a fast-paced environment
- Desirable: Terraform and Ansible, SRE, Data Engineering concepts
